I have had the idea for CC for over a year, but never felt it was the right time to start working on it. As I approach a new challenge in my life, I couldn’t think of a better time to begin.
Career Cailíní is a site that I hope to use to start a discussion about what it means to work for women in Ireland. I want this to be a place for real people, to share real life experiences and to give real insight into the trials and tribulations they live through at work daily.
I want this to be a platform to talk about things that make us uncomfortable like salaries and failures but also practical and fun things like what to wear to work and how to prepare for interviews.
My day job is a Digital Marketer and I’ve been doing this for about 6 years so I will be sharing my thoughts from that perspective, but I want to cover as many vocations as I possibly. (I anticipate calling in multiple favours from friends for this part!).
I’ve been to plenty of networking events, I’ve read multiple articles, but for me there isn’t a place for modern Irish women, who are at a similar stage in their career to me, to come together and to be truthful about their experiences.
I really hope CC can be a safe space filled with honest discussion and a hint of glamour and most importantly, I hope you all enjoy it!
